Product features

How durable are the lanterns?

Our lantern frames are made of walnut wood and bamboo, we believe it gives the lantern a heart and soul. Excessive dryness and heat can cause the bamboo to break, we recommend to use 40 watts or lower wattage LED bulbs and keep away from heat sources.

Our plant-dyed collections feature living colors that may undergo minor changes over time. We hope you enjoy the natural evolution of the textile.

Where are the lanterns made?

All of our lanterns are proudly made in Taiwan. Our beloved island is well known for its tradition in craftsmanship. We collaborate with the finest local artisans and Taiwan's last remaining lantern factory. Whenever possible, we use natural and locally sourced materials.

Do the lanterns have fire resistance?

Our lanterns are made from 95% natural materials and are cigarette-resistant. They are safe for use in homes.

For usage in public spaces, some regulations may be applicable regarding fire resistance. These regulations can vary per country/region. If you would like your lantern(s) to be fire-treated, please send an email to info@taiwan-lantern.

Do the light bulbs come with the purchase?

Light bulbs are not included in your purchase.

Usage of Products

How to unfold and install my lantern?

Each order includes all the necessary hardware and a printed copy with instructions. For more help please watch our instruction videos: Unfolding your lantern or attaching the cord-kit

For safe and correct installation, we advise having the lanterns installed by a licensed electrician.

How should I care for my lantern(s)?

To clean your lanterns, dust gently with a duster or soft rag in a vertical motion from top to bottom. Please avoid using any chemical cleaning products on your lanterns.

Certification

All our lanterns are CE-certified. Our products do not comply with the safety regulations of regions outside the EU.

UL listing

There are possibilities to get UL-listing for our lanterns, please contact us for more information.

Purchase

How do I place an order?

Please make an enquiry by filling out the 'request shipping' form on the product pages of our website, or get in touch directly via email or phone. We only accept bank transfers. Full payment is required to be made before an order is processed. The bank transfer needs to be completed within five working days, or the order will be automatically cancelled. Alternatively, you can visit our retail partners in your area to see and purchase our lanterns.

What is the lead time?

The production time is 8-10 weeks, starting from when payment has been made and order confirmed. Please note that for larger orders the lead time may be longer.

Do you have a stock available?

All of our lanterns are made-to-order. We may sometimes have stock of certain items, please contact us for current available stock.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Please contact us within 48 hours of placing your order, we will gladly help you cancel or modify your order. Because our lanterns are made to order and made by hand, it is not possible to make changes or cancel the order after 48 hours after order confirmation.

Shipping

How much does delivery cost?

We offer worldwide shipping from our office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are happy to provide a shipping quote. Kindly note that we are not responsible for shipment delays and duties or taxes charged by others.

Can I track my shipment?

Once we initiate the shipment, we will promptly provide you with the tracking information.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please thoroughly check the package and product upon receipt. If there are any damages, kindly inform us within 48 hours and keep all packaging for possible repairs or replacements. Otherwise we cannot be held responsible.

Return & Warranty

Can I return or exchange the lantern?

Because our products are custom-made specifically for you, we are not able to accept returns or exchanges.

Do you provide a warranty?

We provide a one-year warranty for our products against material and workmanship defects under normal use from the date of purchase. For more details about the warranty, please refer to the Terms & Conditions.

Trade

Do you work with professionals?

We work with architects, designers and contractors and offer trade discount. Please submit a trade application for our trade program here.

Can you customize the lanterns?

We can customize lanterns for projects with a minimum order quantity requirement. Please get in touch directly via email or phone or visit our bespoke projects page for more information.
